Q.
Why does the ShowbizReels.com page freeze when attempting to upload my reel
and resume?
A. Dial-up Internet Users
- it may take quite a long time for your reel to completely upload to the
site (33 kilobaud speed = at least 4 minutes per megabyte). So if you
are uploading the full 10 MB, expect to wait 40 minutes to a couple hours,
depending upon your speed.
Cable / DSL / TI Internet Users
- If you were waiting endlessly for your reel and resume to upload,
then you should no longer have that problem. There was an error that we
have since corrected. There used to be a limit of 60 seconds to upload
your stuff, and anything beyond that would cause a blank page to appear.
We have since removed that restriction. For a full 10 MB, expect a wait
of anywhere from 25 seconds to an hour, depending upon your speed
Q. Why
does ShowbizReels.com report an error when I try to upload my reel and resume?
A. Your picture resume must
be no larger than 256 KB, and must be a valid .JPG or .GIF file. As a
free member, your reel must be no larger than 10 MB, and must be a valid
QuickTime .MOV file.
Q. I just uploaded my reel successfully. Why isn't my QuickTime movie
reel playing properly on the site?
A. Your QuickTime .MOV file
must be saved as "Self-Contained". Your movie reel is probably split up
among several files, all being referenced by the main .MOV movie. In
this case, your computer is the only one that can play the file after you
export it, since the other files are only on your computer. By choosing
"Self-Contained" when you export, the whole movie will be stored into one
file, making it possible for others to see it. |
